Generators in Uganda — questions, answered

Everything Ugandan buyers ask before requesting a quote — sizing, prices, delivery, warranty.

What size generator do I need for my home or business in Uganda?

Match generator kVA to total connected load. As a rough rule: a 2-bedroom home needs 3–5 kVA, a small shop 5–10 kVA, a workshop or restaurant 10–20 kVA, and a small factory 25–50 kVA. We size every quote against your actual appliance list — share it on WhatsApp and we will recommend the right rating.

What does a 3-phase generator cost in Uganda?

3-phase generator prices in Uganda depend on kVA rating, brand and fuel type. 10kVA 3-phase diesel sets start in the lower-middle bracket, with 15–25kVA units stepping up, and 50kVA+ commercial sets at the top end. We update prices monthly and quote in UGX — request the latest price list via WhatsApp.

Is a diesel or petrol generator better for my use case?

Petrol generators are cheaper upfront, lighter and quieter — good for short backup runs and small residential loads under 5 kVA. Diesel generators cost more but burn less fuel per kWh, last longer under heavy duty cycles, and are the standard for commercial use, workshops and 24/7 backup. Above 7.5 kVA we almost always recommend diesel.

How fast is generator delivery in Kampala and upcountry?

Same-day or next-day delivery for in-stock units within Kampala if confirmed before 1pm Mon–Sat. Upcountry delivery (Jinja, Mbarara, Mbale, Gulu) takes 2–4 days. Commissioning and on-site installation can be added to the quote — bundled price for delivery + install.

What warranty and spare-parts support comes with the generator?

All generators ship with manufacturer warranty (typically 6–12 months depending on brand) and we stock genuine spare parts locally in Industrial Area Kampala. That means a service call does not become a 3-week wait for imports. Specific warranty terms are written into every quote.
